From feeding the deer outside in the morning to counting the bears inside at night this was perfect for our 4 kids (5-12). Horseback riding, walking along the creek downtown, hiking up a hill, finding our way through the maze, enjoying the activities and wonderful show at the Flying J Ranch, and White Sands made it an enjoyable 4 days with this cozy cabin to come back to each day. Many thanks to the owners who thought of everything we could possibly need for a comfortable stay!

Papas bear cabin is a wonderful vacation home, it is fully furnished and has excellent accommodations for a family vacation. We greatly enjoyed the owners hospitality, I highly recommend this as a vacation rental it felt like we were at our own house and enabled us to relax and enjoy the sites in and around Ruidoso , New Mexico ! Jeremy and Sharon at made us feel right at home , when we checked-in and checked out of the cabin. The neighborhood is very quite and beautiful and we even saw deer walking through the yard ! Love love love. We found our new favorite rental.
Bear decorations were SO SO cute. Kids had so much fun with the bears. Deer visiting daily. Fire pit was a nice touch. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 kids. We needed for nothing while there. Literally bring your toothbrush shampoo and clothes. TVs in every room helped and they had tons of games puzzles and movies so kids could say Im bored haha. No snow in town but had fun on the mountain.

We loved our relaxing time here at Papa bears cabin! We fed the deers everything was so fabulous and the beds were absolute comfort. Ever amenity all the way down to the wine openers and kuerig coffee maker. My little dog was welcome too. Cant wait to return. Fireplace beautiful. Fire pit the bomb and grilled steaks one night. This is a GREAT value for Ruidoso. Best Ive had for the price!!

Cute place. Such a value for your money. Lots of deer to hand feed. Quiet. Best porch. Covered. Comfy outdoor space. CUTE decor everywhere. Owner pride. Great stocked kitchen. We stayed in Papa Bear's the week of July 17th-21st. It was the perfect cabin for us! There were 6 of us and we all had our own comfy sleep space. Loved the fire pit on the back porch, loved watching all the wildlife come right up out of the woods to say hello. The mule deer will come up and eat right out of your hand (they love bananas and cheerios lol). Great spot for bird watchers too! There was a hummingbird feeder and we must have seen a million different species of hummingbirds come by for a drink. The ravens were fun to watch too. The cabin was even equipped with a cabinet full of board games and jigsaw puzzles for those lazy or rainy days! It was super clean and decorated beautifully.

Cozy vacation
We stayed here during the summer it's a tradition every year. I've only stayed in Rio a few times and it's always in the summer because the weather is always so amazing this time of year. We loved the cabin it was alot larger than we expected. Had a blast counting all the bears in the cabin. The owners had a great list of things to do so that made our trip way more eventful than we were expecting.
We saw a million deer and bears! Wildlife is absolutely amazing.would and will be coming back next year for sure.
Must go to flying j and zip lining!

Excellent rental
We arrived June 30 and were pleasantly surprised at the inside and outside appearance of this rental. To the owners...great job remodeling We highly recommend renting this 2 bedroom 2 bath home. It does have a fluton as an extra bed. The layout was great for us too. Just be sure and use your GPS the first time to get to it. After that, I'm sure you will find, as we did, alternate routtes. Sit back and enjoy.

To Check IN: To check in come to our Office located at 546 Sudderth Dr. Ruidoso NM. The Office is on the North side of Sudderth Dr. Directly across from Ruidoso Fire Station at the Paradise Canyon intersection. We are open from 9am-5pm Mon-Thur and 9am-6pm Fri-Sat. If you arrive after the office has closed your arrival envelope will be to the left of the front door inside one of the two mailboxes separated by last name. Your envelope will have a map, key, directions, and emergency contact information in case you need to get in touch with us.
CHECK-IN TIME: Standard Check-in time begins at 3:00 PM, Mountain Standard Time. If you must check-in early a pro-rated extra charge will be applied if possible. Sometimes there is no possibility for early check-in. Holiday Check-in time may be as late 6:00 PM, Mountain Standard Time. During holidays early check in is not available.
DEPOSIT and BALANCE: All reservations are guaranteed by charging 50% of the total cost for your stay at the TIME of your reservation, this is the "DEPOSIT", 100% if less than 15 days. You may send a personal check or money order for your 50% Deposit, but it must be received within 10 days from the date of the confirmation letter. A reservation is not considered firm until the deposit is received. IF YOUR DEPOSIT IS NOT RECEIVED WHEN DUE, YOUR RESERVATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION. The remaining balance for your reservation is due 15 days prior to the date of arrival and will be charged that day. When you check in the balance will be paid in full.
CHRISTMAS POLICY: For reservations during the Christmas Holiday there will be a minimum stay requirement of 4 nights. Reservations cannot check in or check out on December 25th or Jan 1. New reservations cannot create single night gaps and may require additional nights to book based on existing reservations. All reservations MUST be paid in full by December 1st or at the time of the reservation if the reservation is booked after Dec 01. There will be absolutely NO cancellations or changes 30 days prior to scheduled arrival.
WINTER CONDITIONS WILL REQUIRE 4 WHEEL DRIVE OR TIRE CHAINS! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO BE PREPARED FOR WINTER CONDITIONS!
