This is one of the most charming cozy cabins in town! A true river cabin with lots of attention to detail and a delightful woodlands decor. Enjoy the screened in deck that really expands your dining and relaxing space, while listening to the Rio Ruidoso River. This authentic riverside cabin is one of Ruidoso's favorite getaways! Located on the Ruidoso river, tucked away on a quaint country road right behind Midtown! Be sure to also enjoy the large river rocks including the one in the bathroom.
River Bear Cabin is also located next door to River Place Cabin.

This cabin is pet friendly. Pets are welcomed upon approval. There is a $25.00 pet fee per pet,

very clean, lovely screened in porch and deck and especially that it was right on the river. Easy check in but I do like the face to face contact as well. Loved that we could walk to the main street for shopping etc.
We have always stayed in the Upper Canyon but this place was just as good if not better than the Upper Canyon.

We loved this place it was in a wonderful location. Quiet even though its close to the main road and had a stream right off the patio. There was plenty space for our husky and pug to stay with us as well. We also loved hat we were a very short walking distance away from the main strip for shopping.

It's a really cozy cabin! Very clean! They have an open family deck which is nice to play games, have breakfast or an evening with wine overlooking the river! Loved how they had family board games and a deck of cards available. I would suggest you bring extra pillows and blankets if visiting during winter.

Welcome to River Bear Cabin! I hope that you enjoy my little slice of heaven on the river as much as I do. My family purchased this cabin a few years ago after watching it rent for many years. When the opportunity to purchase presented itself, I sprang into action and felt my heart skip with anticipation to have this be a rental I could enjoy and share with you.
There are many cute and eccentric parts to River Bear Cabin: the covered screened in porch is one of my favorites year-round. Even when there is snow, I cover up in a big blanket and listen to the river with hot tea in hand and a good book. The bath boulder makes me smile every time I walk into the bathroom. It is like the builder said nope, not trying to move that big guy so let us make do and build around it!
In the mornings I take my fur baby for a little walk along the Rio Ruidoso River. She gets so excited and loves to chase butterflies. To start my day with the rejuvenation of a little calming river walk is priceless. In the evenings on cool night the fireplace is my spot. I like to relax in the chair watching the flames dance and look at the personalized mural on the wall that my daughter painted for me. Hopefully, she will return and finish the last of the paint by numbers soon. Ruidoso is breathtaking year-round, and this cabin draws me to visit more each time I am here.

The cabin is perfect! I would bring bathroom supplies shampoo, body wash, and toothpaste. The screen door is hard to unlock but other than that it was perfect. Cant wait to stay there again.

Great location within easy walk of downtown shops. Super clean with easy check in and check out. Awesome screened porch was a great place to hang out and listen to the sounds of the river. Loved the swing down by the river. Bathroom was a little problematic with the large boulder which made it difficult to have more than one person in there at a time. Overall enjoyed the cabin and would stay there again.

This cabin is in one of the best locations in Ruidoso; Walking distance to the Midtown shops and directly on the river. It's also a very short walk to Sacred Grounds Coffee, which was our favorite place to visit during our stay. Hands down, the best part of the cabin was the screened-in porch. We sat out there every morning and had coffee while listening to the river and watching deer come up for a drink. One of the bedrooms is pretty small, but the beds are comfortable. If I were the owner, I'd do away with the carpet in the bathroom and kitchen, but that's just me. Regardless, we would stay in this cabin again!
Notes
To Check IN: To check in come to our Office located at 546 Sudderth Dr. Ruidoso NM. The Office is on the North side of Sudderth Dr. Directly across from Ruidoso Fire Station at the Paradise Canyon intersection. We are open from 9am-5pm Mon-Thur and 9am-6pm Fri-Sat. If you arrive after the office has closed your arrival envelope will be to the left of the front door inside one of the two mailboxes separated by last name. Your envelope will have a map, key, directions, and emergency contact information in case you need to get in touch with us.
CHECK-IN TIME: Standard Check-in time begins at 3:00 PM, Mountain Standard Time. If you must check-in early a pro-rated extra charge will be applied if possible. Sometimes there is no possibility for early check-in. Holiday Check-in time may be as late 6:00 PM, Mountain Standard Time. During holidays early check in is not available.
DEPOSIT and BALANCE: All reservations are guaranteed by charging 50% of the total cost for your stay at the TIME of your reservation, this is the "DEPOSIT", 100% if less than 15 days. You may send a personal check or money order for your 50% Deposit, but it must be received within 10 days from the date of the confirmation letter. A reservation is not considered firm until the deposit is received. IF YOUR DEPOSIT IS NOT RECEIVED WHEN DUE, YOUR RESERVATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION. The remaining balance for your reservation is due 15 days prior to the date of arrival and will be charged that day. When you check in the balance will be paid in full.
CHRISTMAS POLICY: For reservations during the Christmas Holiday there will be a minimum stay requirement of 4 nights. Reservations cannot check in or check out on December 25th or Jan 1. New reservations cannot create single night gaps and may require additional nights to book based on existing reservations. All reservations MUST be paid in full by December 1st or at the time of the reservation if the reservation is booked after Dec 01. There will be absolutely NO cancellations or changes 30 days prior to scheduled arrival.
WINTER CONDITIONS WILL REQUIRE 4 WHEEL DRIVE OR TIRE CHAINS! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO BE PREPARED FOR WINTER CONDITIONS!
